building a game system

i got a job about 4 months ago at a hardware store and i got an idea to build my own computer case out of plexi glass and such.

i want to use my tv as a monitor because i dont have much space in my room. can anyone suggest a good video card with a tv out? or is there an adapter i can plug into a vga card?

Sparkle SP5300 TNT2 M64 2X/4X AGP 32MB SDR W/TV-OUT

does this look good? i think so. i only play halflife so i dont need a lot of sloppy beefy tech stuff.

Why not get the RADEON VE($10 more from the above website), it's much faster/newer than the TNT2 M64. or find some GeForce2 MX400(they are cheap now), I had TNT2 Pro(TNT2 M64 is a cheap version of Pro) and when I upgraded to MX400, halflife(CS,DOD)become much smoother and I can play at higher res with no graphic lag.

maybe i will get a geforce card. does the mx400 have a tv out then? ill go search google for the specs.

thank you buddy ;)

some do some don't i've a 32mb mx400 which i got for £50 a year ago, next week i'm prolly gonna get a 64mb mx400 with tvout for £35.... i'd like a PCI one really though, as i'll be losing a perfectly good AGP card, rather than replace my naff PCI sis6326

yeah, i just want to get a cheap deal man

i might go for the radeon on that site if i can't find a good/cheap card.

also, im trying to find some wholesalers on line, but even if i did, there would be a minimum order and i would have to sell the extra stuff i dont need. and i think wholesalers only sell to retail stores

hey, what happened to that bash-the-computer smiley!!?!?!?

aww man...

I don't know if you have already built the case, but I have a few suggestions if you havent...

Get a dremel

Use metal braces

Don't forget p/s

fatpig 08-04-2002 10:04 PM

what do you want me to use the dremel for?
i dont have a lot of time now, maybe ill post tommorrow.

thx for the posts

Dremel is to make holes for the ports, and anything else you want to cut other than straight edges on the casing. You can use a drill press, or something similar, but for me, the dremel was the best. There is a bit that works very well, if you'd like I will blast a pic of the bit and post a link to it.

Cool

ok i get what your saying. i know we sell dremels and accessories for them so i guess ill check it out.
