OK so maybe it's just me - but has anybody else been seeing more browser crashes in the last few weeks? I'm not referring to linuxquestions.org, but Yahoo! and a few others who rely heavily on Javascript/Java have been thumping my Netscape 4.78/6.1/Mozilla and even Konqueror. It's making webmail a _major_ PITA.
well... i haven't been having any crashes, but moz 9.5 seriously slows down whenever it loads any java applets - it'll lock for a minute or two before coming magically back to life. no probs with javascript that i've noticed tho.
You can turn java and java script off in konq's settings.....and bingo no more problems, although you should realise that most of these crashes are because of poorly coded web pages and not because of bugs in the browser.
maybe... but a poorly coded web page should cause the page to suck, not a browser crash. browsers need to be ready for people who don't know htm and javascriptl.
Yes but a badly coded java plugin, or, one coded with M$ tools will sometimes cause a non IE browser to curl up its toes...and a lot of sites are using the M$ tools and displaying those hideous buttons that say "Best viewed in M$IE" (and we'll give it away free in exchange for your soul)....ok, so I made that last part up.......
I"ve been having broswer crashes left in right.
Maybe it the sight, NO no thats not it
Oh Wait I RUN WINDOWS silly me
No but really though windows has been getting alot of broswer crashed
I Run system V and And windows as well as red hat 7.1
I have downloaded Opera 5 for Linux, and it works really well. I have had no crashes with it, while there are some sites I go to that Netscape just flops on.
