Botched a Friends Computer!!

Hi,

I had to reinstall windows ME (ughh, I know..) for a friend of mine. Apparently, its supposed to take you through a setup process after the main install, but I get a very weird error...

First, after rebooting, it checks the floppy, and before anything else, it spits out a 'Disk I/O' error. I've tried reformatting and reinstalling several times. The cables are fine, and the hard drive is still good, so I can't figure what could possibly be going on. Any ideas?

-Thanks in advance.

I suggest NOT trying to reinstall Windows ME. Instead, install your fave distro and tell your friend, "But I thought you wanted me to set up your PC so that you could get work done. That's what I did" -- J.W.
