I've said it before, and will say it again. XP is evil evil evil. Read this article, it has some good points about the (mis)features of XP, and how users are agreeing to give all their files and information to M$:
My grandpa uses an XP computer to browse the net and trade dirty jokes with his buddies, and he's always complaining of his computer tying up the phone lines at strange times. (like when he's nowhere near the computer) He asks me what to do about it but I can't help him. The poor guy just wants his computer to do what he wants. Makes me think of all the poor dupes that don't even realise what's going on, and how M$ is exploiting their ignorance.
Yep, and that's what MS are hoping... that no-one bothers to read and and understand it. My bro now has XP on his box - he 'upgraded' because he runs a dual 400 box and none of the 9x series work with the 2nd CPU. He gets annoyed when it tries to access MS networks with out his permission. I've suggested many many times that what he wants is to either 'downgrade' to 2000 (since all he does is use Delphi, write his thesis and browse the internet) or get Linux. Does he listen?
This is starting to be some fun.M$ wants to own the net and control all the boxes - Hollywood wants to start a cyberwar with p2p and Washington delares everybody who has a virus a terrorist.I think I'll cancel my net connection.

Well in the end of it all we might end up with two internet branches. A "secure" microsoft one with Palladium, and a "unreliable, evil, dangerous" branch with all who refused to follow the crowd. That would actually be cool, you would have to dial two different numbers, depending on which branch of the net you want to connect to.

EDIT: Am i hallucinating or is there a little black dot on the folder of each thread i replied to?
