BBQ smoke illegal in Florida

This should give some laughs.

I was impressed at the calmness of the alleged perps. :-)

I once had a neighbor whose next-door neighbor disliked him (for no good reason--everyone else disliked her). The neighbor and I were too different to ever become good friends, but he was without a doubt the best, most giving neighbor I ever had.

His backyard faced a dead-end street and he had put up a privacy fence. He had one of those portable firepit thingees; we were gathered around it as he burned some logs one autumn evening when the local volunteer fire dept. crashed through the privacy fence, hoses at the ready.

Seems said neighbor whom everyone disliked had reported that his backyard had burst into a wild fire.

That website is a laugh. Teahadists on full alert.

Did the person who called the fire brigade get a fine? False alarms are usually considered a serious offence.

In the U.S. we call it the fire department.

In Texas, a false report is a second degree misdemeanor.

But I do not think it is well enforced.

I was once looking for a new bank.

It was in a shopping center, so I asked if they had a bank vault.

They called the police on me and I was pulled over.

I'm not clicking on the article, but when I was a kid I watched my neighbour burn garbage in his backyard every day.

That is a good law.

Those gas air blowers are real annoying. Whatever happened to the old fashioned "sweeping up leaves." ?

All the blowers do is move trash to another location and cause noise and air pollution. :-)

MAD magazine put it this way: "The idea behind leaf blowers is that noise and air pollution are justified by the ability to move a bunch of leaves a few feet and then having to pick them up by hand anyway."

I think my neighbor choose not to pursue the matter with the local constabulary--he was a slow-to-burn kind of guy and he did have to live next door to this harridan--and the lady next door could have claimed it was an honest mistake (she would have been lying, but she could have claimed that).

I used to own 2 acres in the country.

How I miss that so much.

I had a small shooting range.

Since I had a water well, no water bills.

I did have to make a chicken wire enclosure for my trash due to stray dogs and cats.
