Perhaps I've lost my mind. I cannot for the life of me locate the backup program on ME.. It's not in the system tools menu. I want to back up my entire system so that I can remove ME permanently. Somebody please help me.. I'm feeling really stupid right now..
I am not that familiar with WinME but I think the backup tool is just like it was or located the same place as 98. I really don't know though since most questions here are about Linux, have you checked out Microsoft's site for any details on where the utility would be at?
Don't hold me to this, but I believe that winME DOESN'T have a back-up program, because instead it has that system restore thingy. I think you'll have to get a third party product if you want to do a backup, or try to install the backup prog from a previous win98 CD. (Can you do that??)
I couldn't find any back-up program on Windows Me. I got so sick and tired of it. Eventually I reformatted my harddrive and rid myself of Windows for good. My computer hasn't froze since.
Why do you want to backup your ME system if you going to remove it? Unless you have some profound reason, you should just backup your personal data files to a diskette or CDROM. Load Linux, then transfer all of it back.
