Blogs can be used for serious writing and useful content.
I just think that many people just use blogs as their personal electronic diaries.
Think of a blog software as a CMS. It provides you the tools while you provide the content. And content can be absolutely anything you choose.
It depends on who uses the blog and for what purpose.
Please don't insult bloggers in general. I think that's not right, considering that I maintain one too
