Are U a Fan of SFF computers?

SFF = Small Form Factor Computers

I am.

Some SFF are powerful as desktops, they use less space, less power which you can keep up 24/7 as a server.

Hello and welcome to the forum

I don't think it's a dumb question. I prefer systems that I can take apart and swap out various devices, like video and sound cards but the kind of systems that you're talking about have their benefits, too. Primarily space and lots of it.

Regards...

I think they have a good use, if you got limited space they are a good option.
I rather like those intel NUC's, small yes but incredibly powerul.

Don't be so self-judgmental and Welcome to LQ, linuzfan.

I'm not sure if you're referring to a complete system or something that you put together like a Raspberry Pi or other hobby type of board.

I like them for several reasons, such as that they are low power, they do not require a fan, they are also open and you can experiment with them. At least the ones I'm thinking about. As far as a very small system that is like a tiny brick which sits on the back of a monitor, I like those too. Mainly I love my very old ATOM laptop/notebook. It's like 7 or 10" screen, very lightweight. Fact is the hard drive died a few years ago and I boot live USB off of it just for general surfing and reading email. But it boots fast, and lasts for a very long time. That's all I really care about because I can take it outside when I'm working in the yard, leave it on the picnic table, then go get it to review some email or documents during a pause period.

And that's actually the difference to me. I have tablets and phones, but reading a document or spreadsheet on those is difficult because the Android OS does support viewing the documents, probably editing, however I'd have to kill my screen real estate to add a keyboard, whereas with this tiny laptop, even though the screen is small, the keyboard is separate and just enough that if I wish to edit something quick to send back to someone, I can do that within my preferences.
