Are Linux Users Democrats or Republican?

Im interested to see if this is like the rest of America or if there is a more dominant political party.

And then there's us who do live in the United States who are neither party.

I am not an independant, either... What am I, you ask?

A libertarian.

yeah, where's green?(what I would be if I was old enough to vote, I'm only 16). I'm kinda anti-republican, if that's what you mean. Here's a thought. Republicans tend to go for big business, right? Many Linux users are using linux as a way to rebel against MS(a big business). I hypothesize that you will find many linux users are either democrats, or part of a smaller "party"(i use quotations to make a point about the two party system, not as a way to offend anyone)

I'm neither R of D but I guess I lean more toward Republican. Mainly because the way
I see it, the Republicans believe that you should be responsible for yourself and the
Democrats think the government should be responsible for you. We have so many social
programs set up that reward stupidity and lazyness it's no wonder we have so many
stupid, lazy people here.

I would have to say overall though that these days there does'nt seem to be much difference between the two.

I didn't vote in this poll, because I'm a Libertarian.

I somewhat agree. I think moreso than just that, they don't represent the parties they claim. Which, if it was just that, would be fine. Don't claim a party then, or claim one that will get elected; either way, listen to the people.

Cool

Of the two major parties I lean toward the Republican party, but frankly, my beliefs are more in line with the Libertarian party. For instance, I think Bush has done a reasonably good job with foreign policy, but domestically he's awful. The PATRIOT ACT is an inexcusable abomination and needs to to heavily reformed or repealed entirely.

i find the republicans say that, (things like less governments), then they go declare war, and say we need bigger military to defend the country (gee, if all you wanted to do was defend a county, then don't declare wars!!), then they push for a government thats bigger, and more in everyones way (the patriot acts are a prime example) ......... so i don't trust em, tho i must say i agree with some of what they say (shame they don't do what they say .)

anyways, democrats are a bit better, tho i agree neither side listens to people, and both just go around pushing their politics on everyone in the world (gee, no wonder why most of the world hates the US (no, its not because they are "free"))

personally neither party gets hardly anything done, maybe they should read history, if the founding fathers of the US thought political parties were good, why arnt they in the constitution, instead they are more unofficial (unlike in england it would seem), just a lot of bickering, neither doing whats best for the people, both almost seem to disagree just to disagree.

so if i could vote, i would join no party, they only seem to benifit people with money anyways.

Sorry about the poll, i didnt think about the other political partys, im located in illinois. wich is split, democrat in the north and republican in the south, and i am in the north. If a mod wants to edit this to add libertarian and not in the USA that would be cool. I see myself as more of a democrat.

I am an independent, and favor neither party. I vote for candidates, not names.

That said, I have been called a "liberal hippie" many times, so I said Democrat...

I believe Linux users to be pragmatic and pretty smart. That has little to do with if they're D or R, so I guess it's pretty even spread.
