apt-get or yum for Cygwin?
To update the Cygwin environment installed on a Windows machine, I use the setup.exe application that allows me to select updates by package.
But is there a way to do that with a command-line tool like apt-get, urpmi, yum or aptitude? Sadly, I fear I am going to be forced to use Windows on my new job. But I think I will be able to at least use Cygwin. I want to get details like this lined up early. |
I don't think Cygwin is supported any longer (could be wrong). I think something else I would look into is running a virtual box (most computers are dual core nowadays).

But oddly, I can't find any forum that supports it. The support seems to all be by old-fashioned mailing list. Go figure. |
