Apple iPhone 4 rant.. Why did I upgrade!

Hi All,

I have an iPhone 4 8GB. Recently upgraded to iOS7. Yes I know was a big mistake. I can't even reject the incoming call!!!!
I cant select multiple contacts from the list and send message to all at one go.
The phone has slowed down to frustrating levels.
Swiping the contact from missed call list to make a call takes about a minute to connect.

And list goes onnnnnn....

Oops, pwned by Apple. The cure.

I am not sure if Android will solve my issues. iOS 6 is a pretty good platform. Performs well on the older phones and I was a happy man using it. Some of my colleagues and friends are happy with the way their iPhone is performing on iOS7. May be my phone has issues. Not sure.

It certainly sounds like it might be something phone-specific and/or hardware-related ... when any computer takes "minutes" or even "seconds" to do "anything," and millions of other people aren't complaining, yeah, "it's probably you(r machine)." Can you get the thing serviced anymore?

linuxlover.chaitanya 11-12-2013 12:41 AM

Yup I am thinking of taking it to service center and ask them to reinstall the OS. If that still does not work, I am going to ask for a replacement.

BTW, is there a way I can myself reinstall iOS7?

Offhand, it sounds to me like there may well be a hardware problem with this unit. Tell them what the symptoms are, and ask them to diagnose it. (If they try to sell you a new-latest phone, say "no, thanks.")

I frankly doubt that "reinstalling the OS" will do anything useful. Either the OS is installed correctly or it isn't. And, if it isn't, it will know.

I have an iPhone 4 32GB and iOS 7 runs like garbage on it..

XavierP 11-12-2013 09:43 AM

Do a full reset on it - turn off Find My iPhone, make sure it is all backed up and then do Settings>General>Erase All Data and Reset

Germany_chris 11-12-2013 11:05 AM

And it still runs like crap, fresh install? Yup still runs like crap.

I wish Apple would have warned iPhone 4 users not to upgrade to face the consequences. Or better, they should not have released this upgrade for iPhone 4.
