Is anyone planning a celebration for Un*x's 1 gigasecond anniversary at 7:04 on Jan 4 (local time)? I was playing around with a perl script and thats what i got for scalar localtime(2**30) .

Everyday is a day to celebrate Unix. Really I celebrate using Linux.

But, if you want to celebrate then, let's have a party. How about right here on the boards on Jan. 4.

I must depend on the water to keep me going for the rest of the night, intill I get that damned mplayer installed and working.. and now I am on a different project with WINE as well.. Damn I am getting myself mixed up with the wrong stuff.. I need to run back to Windows like a Coward..

You reached the age of one gigasecond (109 s) on Thursday March 5, 1992 at 21:21.

You will reach the age of two gigaseconds (2 * 109 s) on Sunday November 12, 2023 at 23:7.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dang, I missed my 1st birthday. Although 1992 was a good year I think, I can't remember. Guess I will have to wait another 20 years for my 2nd birthday.

You will reach the age of one gigasecond (109 s) on Tuesday February 25, 2020 at 20:16.

The time might be a few minutes off.. but the date is for sure.. Hell I don't want to think about 2020 yet..

W00h00! Count me in, I'll be the guy fashionably late, and I don't do it on purpose but that's how it ends up, I've got no judgement of time abilities

Say, New York? LWE? If I'm working, and not going to school, and making enough greenbacks ( dough, bread, moola, dinero, cash, benjamins.. ) I'll surely be there!

Cool

Let's get ahold of Linus. Maybe we could party at his house. How cool would that be?
