AMD Atholon XP cpu temp!!!!
How hot is too hot?? I haven't really found where i could get a definite answer on how hot is too hot for an Atholon XP processor. I am pretty sure mine runs pretty hot and i am not sure why. It runs at 60C or 140F. I think that i saw that it is way too hot at 90C i am not for sure. I would like to overclock it, but i don't know what more should i get for the cooling or what. Well thanks

If its a Palomino core then your looking at 0.18 microns so Id say around about 75C is plenty. However I know of some that have run stable at 85C. If you want more info go to forums.overclockers.co.uk or just www.overclockers.co.uk if your after hardware that is guaranteed to overclock

Mine runs at 141 degrees.
From what tech guys have told me, that is pretty normal for XP processors. |
Indeed, my Athlon is running under 40C with super-duper arctic cooling system - a huge low noise fan (I am too lazy to look under the hood to tell you what model it is) + arcticsilver thermal compound http://www.arcticsilver.com/as3.htm
My friends XP 2000 or 2200 (don't remember) with stock fan + as3 runs about 45C |
