I'd especially be interested in a weapon that would give me the choice of either "killing the creature" or, as in the case of a stray (neighbor's??) dog, merely giving it a "whack in the " that it is sure not to soon forget.) Right now, I have to use a .22-caliber "shotgun shell" and I'm still concerned about actually causing permanent damage to an animal that I merely wish to (decisively, but harmlessly) frighten away. I'm a good-enough shot, as you can guess, to put the projectile where I want it to be, but I seem to have limited options (with conventional guns) as to exactly what sort of projectile I can "put there."
Again, take a look at the Benjamin Marauder I linked to earlier. Comes in .177, .22 and .25 caliber. Pre-charged pneumatic, bolt-action / magazine fed, get the 'pistol' version and get the buttstock for it and a decent little scope and you should have a handy little varmint-getter / stray-dog-calibrator.
I already have a howitzer, mounted on a remote-controlled turret, to take care of the little fuzzy bunnies. I like to like the little bits of fur fly high into the air ... bwahahahahahahahahaha!!
If I spend one minute on youtube I'll end up wasting the entire day watching cute dogs playing or cute kids playing guitar then I'll get stuck on some cute girl playing guitar and next thing you know the entire day is wasted.
I'll mark this thread as solved. Many of my questions have been answered.
I'll look at the ideas of models and quality ammo.
