I thought I seriously was posting them in linux general. I guess I have been making a mistake. Whatever I have to do I will do it. To bad about the thread maybe a little to passionate.
Since ther music business is having a terrible time making any money I can see why it has devolved into formula but I don't think the same is true for films which is why I disagree with the notion that it has gotten worse. There has always been a plethora of topical, Pop trash in every art form with only a few gems worthy of any lasting note. High Noon (1952) and Citizen Kane (1941) are monumental classics but because they have Universality in that they are at base, character studies and that changes very little with time so they stay relevant especially when done that masterfully. There are still amazing Character Study movies being made today but just like the above 2 examples just a few per decade actually stand out.
