About Sticky bit...


I know about sticky bit but can you tell me how to set a sticky bit?

-rwxrwxrwt both others execute and sticky bit are set
-rwxrwxr-T sticky bit is set, but others execute is not set

is it the answer?

chmod +t /tmp

There's also a way to set the sticky bits in absolute mode. Just prepend the octal bitmap to the other permission settings. . .
Code:
$chmod 7666 theFile
will set all three sticky bits with read/execute permissions for everyone.
