I would like to change the colour scheme that Wine uses on windows programs running in wine. Can anyone tell me how to do this, or point me to a information resource which will help me do this?

There's probably not too much you can do right now to customize the look. They're too busy working on getting things running to worry much about what the programs look like.

But if you run the command "winecfg" (there may also be a shortcut in your menu) to open the wine configuration GUI, you'll see that one of the tabs there is for "Desktop Integration". It's supposed to let you install themes there, but I've never used it myself. I'm not even sure what kind of theme it uses, frankly, but I assume they're Windows themes. It's still a rather simple interface overall in any case.

Other than that, you may be able to apply a few entries to the registry to change some of the visuals, but you'll have to know what you're doing for that ('cause I sure don't ).

Thank you David! I tell you, I am trying to get everything to follow the same uniform standard. I require this standard colour scheme for my corporate workstations.
I see the theme thing in winecfg. I couldn't find any kind of theme file that it would accept. Eventually I did manage to do some stuff with the registry to get the colours changed.

If anyone would like to know, just say so, and I'll post it in this topic.

That's great to hear. Yes, I think there are people who would like to know what you did (at least I'm curious about it). Helping each other find solutions is what this forum is all about, right?

I went to download some windowblinds skins from wincustomise.com. winecfg's theme thing didn't accept the .wba file, but I noticed that the .wba file was just a zip file containing some stuff, among this stuff a registry entry which I decided to import using wine's registry editor. After importing it, and running the command "wineserver -k" to be sure, the colour scheme had changed.

Intresting to know, thanks for the info. completely off toppic: did you get your sounds channeling together properly? aRts gets things right for kde, jack for alsa and for OSS.... OK, I give up. I know it can be done but its not easy. Sorry for going way off toppic.

Sounds channeling together properly. How do you mean? You mean like playing two sounds at once? If so, I just set it to use "OSS" because I have a soundcard with hardware mixing.

I was also looking for my colors to fit to my kde.
Now I found in my install this kde-config module in Settings --> System --> Windows Config (Wine Config Module). (Names translated from Dutch)
This config tool looks a lot like the winecfg program, but here you CAN configure your colors to the same as your kde colors.
After a wineserver -k command all colors are the same as my KDE.

My system is a Kubuntu 6.10 install on amd64 (not using chroot, but other method).
