A security concern! Please advise!

I recently noticed this IP address:
0.0.0.0
browsing my website.

I've never heard of this IP address... Is this a hacking/cracking attempt or something? Should I ban this IP address from my site or is it safe?

How can I check? I searched Google for this, but all I get is some sites that describe this IP address as being the "default network". What does it mean?

hi there

i am not confirmed though !!
but it seems to me like the loopback address 127.0.0.1 used from and for the machine only

regards

I don't have my own server. I am using a web hosting provider. Does this mean that somebody has broken into my web hosting server and is using that machine?

And the IP was not 127.0.0.1. It is 0.0.0.0

From: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/question549.htm -
"Default Network - The IP address of 0.0.0.0 is used for the default network."
"Loopback - The IP address 127.0.0.1 is used as the loopback address. This means that it is used by the host computer to send a message back to itself. It is commonly used for troubleshooting and network testing."

It seems that it is perfectly ok.

Thanks. I never noticed that IP address before and it sent off alarm bells in me, seeing as I had read a recent message that somebody has been hacking phpBB boards in the web.

No problem :)
