Wouldn't that one go better under "famous last words"? An epitaph has to be an inscription.

Actually the one that sticks in my mind is in pretty bad taste but I'll remind you of it anyway. Jimmy Savile actually had "It was fun while it lasted" inscribed on his tombstone. At the time, everyone thought it was cute and sort of lovable. Then they found out what he had meant. He must have guessed that his victims would start speaking out as soon as he was safely dead.

I think "return 1;" would be a pretty cool epitaph.

it is used tio end programs in C and similar languages to tell the calling process that a fault occured. Also, it could be loosely interpreted as returning one human earth to earth etc.

King Charles II and some friends were making up epitaphs for people and Lord Rochester said to the king "Here's one for you:
Here lies our sovereign lord the king
Whose word no man relied on
Who never said a foolish thing
And never did a wise one."

Everyone held their breath, but the king laughed and said "Very true! My words are my own, but my deeds are my ministers'."
