Exclamation A Comcast Mystery

A bit off all topics I guess, but I wonder if anyone would have any idea why my dad's Comcast Digital Box starts beeping everyday at about 12:01 PM. Even when the TV is on, it starts out with five or six slow beeps followed by a more rapid sequence which lasts for a minute or more. I tried to Google but except for the interesting articles explaining that Comcast's privacy policy is that they can get your most personal information and sell it to whomever they want, I came up blank. Any Comcast subscribers out their noticing the same thing?

I'm with Comcast, but hopefully soon to be a FIOS customer , but anyways, I have digital cable too, with 3 receivers in the house, one of them HD, and I have not encountered such a weird problem, it might be the receiver itself, I would just go to a Comcast location and have them switch it for you, since if you just tell them that the equipment is defective, they will just replace it.

Well that's an idea. I was thinking that maybe this auditory signal was a slip up on their part; a telltale sign of something going on that wasn't supposed to be noticed. Dad thinks that they upload a record of what he watches.

I doubt that. I don't see how that would benefit them in any way. Besides, they would know only what he watched if he ordered a movie through pay per view, or some other pay channel because it must be billed, but as far as regular stuff, no.
