President Trump's greatest failure so for ( as far as I am concerned ) is to only assemble " loyalist followers " instead of " great thinkers " around his presidency!! Even Donald Trump's most ardent supporters are beginning to doubt him! Our country is full of very astute people; but it is a shame that our political system is so rotten and corrupt that people of integrity avoid political office like the plague!!
"Get Over It.™" "Thinking that you are going to change the World" is easy. "Actually changing it(!)" is very hard.

Quite frankly, "Cousin," I think that you have "just bit a fish-hook, hook, line, and sinker." The first sentence equates one mythos, "real thinkers," to a (nobly dead ...) political icon. Then, the next sentence (and, the third) equates the present Officeholder to a straw-man, dragged-down with lead weights such as "care about," "image," "unbending loyalty," "whim," "steadfastly adhere," "24/7," "private company," and "attitude!"
The cold reality of the situation, "Cousin," is that you have "bitten the hook" in the first paragraph, as well, as you say (without affirmation) that "our political system is rotten and corrupt," and that "people of integrity" (whatever Saviors they might be) will therefore not have anything to do with it. (Thus, we are all "Going to Hell in a Handbasket, etc. etc ...")

Well, I must say, I'm becoming very fed up with Trump. I was willing to give this complete political virgin a chance, if only because all the people who know how politics works had had their chance and blown it. Perhaps someone who gloried in knowing nothing about how things are done would make a better job of it. As the saying goes: "It couldn't be done, but the damn' fool didn't know that, so he went ahead and did it!" Besides, as Sundial pointed out, he was the democratic choice of most of the states. But all we've seen so far is floundering and incompetence. The Comey sacking is a case in point: he can't even tell the same story twice in an hour.
Why did the American people suppose that change would be "easy" or "quick?" Whatever happens, it's not going to be either of these things. His popularity will both soar and plummet. People will grab tar, feathers, and a limousine in hope of simply – one way or the other – driving him out of town. But, he won't go.
The President can only lead by persuasion. (As none other than George Washington observed, he can command the Military to do anything, but to the Congress he can do nothing.)
The deep-rooted problems in the country originate in the Congress, not the White House. This is a group of very corrupt people who persuaded an equally corrupt Supreme Court to declare that bribery was not, in fact, the "high crime" that the Constitution declares it to be, but "Constitutionally protected free speech" by "Corporations, who are Citizens." Some of these people have been in the Congress for more than thirty years. Meanwhile, the Corporations whose interests they so vehemently protect owe no loyalty nor allegiance to "this country" (or, any country) at all. Against this, there is, most improbably, the billionaire CEO of many Corporations.
But, someone must do something, since the United States is quickly becoming the laughingstock of the world community. For all of its arrogance and hubris, strutting about the world's stage telling everybody else what they should do, it cannot or will not take care of its own. It enters into trade agreements with other nations in which everybody loses. And, it calls all of this, "the new normal."

To follow-up on post #3, there seems to be a small number of members who only participate in General. While there is no formal rule, as a guideline if you find over 50% of your posts are in General you may want to reconsider your posting habits. Moving forward, we may limit the participation of individual members. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Jeremy, I'd suggest that "a simple suggestion ought to do it." Yes, this site is here for Linux, and it's important to "give the s some love." (Andall the other many interesting forums that are here.)

Unfortunately it's become clear that a simple suggestion won't do it. With this step it's my hope we don't have to move to the next step, which would be a moratorium on certain topics here in General.
