[SOLVED] Is Amazon instant video supported in linux?
 
Hello,

I am thinking of renting a movie from amazon instant video for $2.99. But before I do, has anyone use this service using linux?

As to if this still applies, I can't say. My guess is you will loose $3.

Not sure if the trailer being able to be viewed or not is any indication.

Thanks for the reply and link jefro.

I will think on it and take a gamble renting the movie. Or I could watch it from the family computer which has windows vista since my own computer only has linux on it.

I tested the trailers and they work. The live stream has some choices for download speeds but I didn't see HD, they also have a download which I'd suspect is meaning the purchased version.

Let us know how it works.

Yes. it does work in linux. I didn't have to install anything not even a plugin. Not sure if it is playing the movie in HD or maybe it is but it is playing the movie and the movie looks sharp and clear.

All you have to do is rent/buy the movie and once payment is approved, the movie is in your amazon video library. Click on it and it starts playing from the browser. The rental is for 48 hours.
