Sorry, but on a first glance to me this looks like another "I have been banned from forum XY" page where somebody cries about being excluded from a forum.
Sometimes these pages pop up, I've been the reason for and subject of one before, and I can tell you that nobody will give a f**king sh*t.

Well, I've looked at it now, and it's just as I expected.
It's full of sh*t.

Sorry I have to say that, but if you only registered here to cry about you being banned from FedoraForum then I believe that your stay here also might not be very long.

So, simply get over it and stop crying.

TIP: A good indicator a site sucks is when the only people who post regularly are admins, and all they seem to do is blabber with each other about which beer kills the most kids.

You're right!!!!!!!!!
That easy to know, by looking at the member list!!
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/memberlist.php
Now, i don't know the exact numbers, but i think after the first pages of the members list... you'll start to see users with the average of 100 posts... and then a drop after another. There aren't many users with more than 1000 posts!!! (i was one of them)
What is interesting is the difference of posts between admins and users. If you sum all the posts by admins, you'll find they have a posts-ratio higher than the sum of the others 100000 registered users!!!!!!
It's usual for new users on FedoraForum: take one account, discover how much the forum is ugly because of bad admins, and run away (if not banned before )!!!!!!!!!!
Methinks, of their all registered users, much more than half is with 0 or 1 post!!!!!

As for killing beers... they're always talking about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOOLLLLL
Some users sent me messages to tell me, how much the forum will be boring without me!!!! only admins are talking there!!!!!!

bye!!!!!!!!!!

skimmed through some of your site, and I think you'll find Linuxquestions.org to be a little different.

Theres new features popping up here all the time.

Many other features keep popping up, I can't keep track of them, and am probably unaware of a few cool things here..

the Wiki for info Exists. They encourage articles from forum members (How-To's etc..)

You can create blog entries of your own for various useful information. (I just put links in my sig to several of what I think are useful blog posts I've made, others may disagree.. that's their prerogative )

The moderators here are pretty fair, don't typically get heavy handed (I actually think they are pretty lenient at times) I've witnessed bans, but only after repeated infractions and multiple warnings. Always handled in a professional manner.

Theres a ton of knowledgeable Linux folk around here, whom I aspire to be like some day. great resources to tap.

Best advice I can offer is read the rules, follow em and hopefully your experience here will be as good as i have found it to be.

Welcome to Linuxquestiosn.org

Thank you a lot farslayer!!!!

Anyway, i dont think i'll stay on this website. I've built my forum too!! So, i'll move there!!!!
I'll take care of my forum!!!

I went here, only to find some support to protest against FedoraForum!!! this was to spread what were and are my thoughts about F.Forum!!!! Because, there are no other ways for normal people to protest!!!!!!!

Btw, this is good to know: this forum is a better place!!! If i'll need to ask something to the others, i'll come back here (but i'll register a new account with my real username!!! - bee or honeybee!!!!)

bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody's being aggressive. Most people have never seen me aggressive, and I tend to leave it that way.
Well, that much for that part.

Now something completely different...

Sorry for the long quote, but it's all one block I'd like to respond to.
I don't think that's unique to FedoraForum. Any forum of a certain size will show this. 50% of users that have registered to ask a question or not even that and then never come back, mods and admins with a high post-count, many users hovering between 100 and 1000 posts...

Now let's think about that a bit.
What kind of people get nominated mod/admin? Newcomers? No! People who are already members for quite a while and have proven to be helpful and can certify not to have a life.
The ratio of having a life and post-count thus is inverse proportional.
So, it's not at all surprising that the mods/admins have a high post-count. It's simply because they are long-time members and have no life.

Then there are those many users between 100 and 1000 posts. Well, those are the average users I guess. Many people don't commit to a forum for a long time. They stay for a while, get a few 100 posts together and then vanish into thin air.

And of course the people who register because they just want to ask one question and then never come back. Or register and then search and find an answer, and thus never post.

I'd bet that the stats here on LQ look pretty similar. I know that they do on tutorials.de, where I happen to be a mod with a good 12000 posts and a website like yours created because I have once banned somebody who thought reacting in this childish manner would impress anybody.

This isn't a childish way.... this is the only way (me/)you've to complain against the wrongs, done by admins of FedoraForum. They are doing to other users, as they did to me too, a lot of bad stuffs.
Or are you aware of other ways to complain? as they're always ignoring you!
Well, i don't want to rewrite here what i wrote on my website, just go there to read...

Maybe when you've "once banned somebody" that was because a bad reason or because you were wrong.... this is what admins on FedoraForum are doing.
I cannot know about what you were talking about because i don't know what was happened there.... but i think if an admin is blocking you, and actually he's doing it for a wrong reason... well, you've all the rights to protest!!! with all the possible available ways you have and you may think about!!!!

bye!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I have had my own issues with FF, your website is pretty much just a rant. There are SOME real issues there, but a lot of what you complained about was due to your trolling for trouble. It is their sandbox and if they do not wish to allow discussions of questionable activities(cracking and proto cracking topics) it is their right to do so. Those topics would not generally be allowed here either. Purposefully railing on religious topics in a questionable and offensive (to some) manner was also waiving a red flag(technically within the rules but wrong by most peoples standards).

As far as Ewdi goes, yeah he is a control freak. He also runs several successful businesses and people who do that tend to be control freaks (nature of the beast). He was also one of the first to provide a forum specifically about Fedora and should be credited for the major contributions to the community that have come about in that environment. Firewing for example; went from being a basic user to a major force in the rpmfusion collaboration in that environment.

There were also some 'heat of the moment instances' listed there in which the CM was clearly in the wrong. When any of us get involved in a heated discussion, we say/post things that we later regret. While a CM should keep in better control, stuff happens. While many of the individuals there do have a consistent pattern of questionable behavior, there is at least one individual in your list where you choose an out of character incident. CMs have outside lives too. Unfortunately our personal lives can color our responses in a partiuclar thread.

All the above considered; I have virtually quit posting on FF.

As a side note; you need to look up the difference between worse and worst. Using them incorrectly just makes you look bad.

Tons of forums out there, I just walk away and look for a better one. If it's managed poorly people won't stick around, at least not good people. they will move on to a new home with a better community. Better to spend all that time and energy on something constructive. I think we've all taken some abuse in the past (anyone else spend time in the Linux channels on IRC back in the day ?)

bloodninja: Oh yeah, aight. Aight, I put on my robe and wizard hat.
BritneySpears14: Oh, I like to play dress up.
Real time abuse, now that truly frustrating..

This Forum has been the most responsive community I've been involved int, and has had the most helpful people, even if reptiler just accused me of not having a life..
