[Early] Congratulations Moses!

Looks like trickykid's guess was correct...

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...116#post345116

Pulling closer and closer, moses is currently at 997 (as of right this second), so I'm pre-emptively congratulating him

Congratulations Moses!

Any guesses on whether he picks Guru or LQ Addict? Any input on that?

I'd definitely throw a vote on the Guru pile for Moses. He's been very knowledgeable with a variety of topics, can definitely handle himself in critical situations, and rarely (ever?) leads a n00b down a wrong path.

Anyway, glad you have you onboard Moses, and hope to see you here for a long long time.

Cool

I agreed with you further down, in that thread I don't think many (who have been here long enough) would doubt you when calling a shot on something like that, it'd be like questioning Ben Kanobi about the Force

Congratulations! :)

Was about time moses :}

You're certainly one of the most
valuable participants here, and the
guru is MORE than well-deserved ;)

Not too many posts, but always
high quality.

Cheers,
Tink

Thanks guys! *blush*. I actually wish there was a "Wannabe Guru" option. I may know a lot, but I only know just enough to know how much I don't know. . . It's a very humbling position to be in.
I also don't think the LQ addict designation is quite right for me (though my wife may disagree) as I don't really hang out that much. . .

Heh ... you're just right mate ;)

I'm torn between guru and addict
myself, but tend to believe that my
helpful posts outweigh my stupid
ones by a few percent ;) ...

Cheers,
Tink

HUH!?!? Is that anything like:
"I know just enough to be dangerous"

Seriously though, congrats. I think Guru fits your fine. BTW, I think your quote above would make a great addition to your signature.

It's supposed to be confusing. =-}
It is sort of like "I know just enough to be dangerous," but once you begin to know Linux (UNIX), you realize that there is a depth to it that you never imagined when you ran some other OS.
*NIX is like nuclear or solar energy; it's so powerful that only a very few people can fully take advantage of it. Quite a few people know that the power is there, but can only begin to grasp how to take advantage of it, A very large number know it exists, and that some people think it's powerful, and the rest don't really understand what's the big deal with such a complicated system when we can use fossil fuels.
I feel like I'm one of the people who know that the power is there, but can't quite take full advantage of it. I just don't have the time to fully investigate (and use) everything that *NIX can do, and I've been working with it for going on 10 years.
