Upgrading to Fedora Core 2

Hello all,

I have an interesting question, we have an email server here at work that is running an unknown version of Suse (it uses kernel 2.2.18), and I was wondering if I could just upgrade to FC2 without doing a full reinstall.

The reason that I don't want to do a full reinstall is that I don't want to lose the employees addressbooks (they are stored on the server because they use sqwebmail) or the webpage also there is a pretty custom install of qmail. We no longer have the root password for this box (don't ask....please don't ask) and booting with a tom's root boot disk and then chrooting and a passwd wont work either.

Anyways, is this gonna be a major headache or should I just build a new webserver?

Hi!

I realy don't thing that it's possible to upgrade from SuSe to Fedora
What you can do: backup the adressbooks of your employees and put them back after a fresh install of Fedora...if you decide to switch.
For the root password, try searching this forum, I red here some workarounds for changing the roots password.

Cheers, Boby
