Angry Software Updater doesn't work after install from FTP

I successfully installed FC5 from FTP. But when I click on the Software Updater or the Package Manager on the menu, both just sit and spin, indicating they are retrieving software information. If I had done the install from CD, this wouldn't be a problem. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

Thanks,
-Chad

Hi Chad,

Both Pirut and Pup are based on yum so I would open a terminal and run

# yum update

and see where it is hanging. You may need to update the .repo files which hold the information on where to obtain updates although it seems unlikely.

Regards
Chris
