serious problem.....please help.....


i am trying to install fedora core 6 on my dell laptop which has xp also on it.......dual boot.....the laptop boots from the fedora core cd 1 and after pressing enter......to enter setup and goes to the screen where u have to check the media drive........i said skip......then comes the problem....it says running anaconda and thats it.......nothing happens after this........please help.......

Try running it in console mode, not graphical mode. Then look at the CTRL+ALT+Fn (where n equals 1 through 6) to find clues?

Seems the FC6 Anaconda installer is extremely buggy. It will for instance not like you having a static LAN IP since some of the installer stuff was only tested with DHCP working. I'd search the FC6 Release and Installer notes (boot options like no DMA for the media check and turning ACPI off on install), FC Bugzilla for Anaconda and this forum for other clues.
