RPM issues
I have tryed to install Java the install all seemed to work except that Java dident actually work although it was installed for some reason.
Mozilla dident have it in its plugins detail either. I tred to remove Java by using rpm -e jre Now all the files have gone and I cant reinstall it as it says its installed. What do I do? Thanks |
You may have installed Java, but did you make sure that the Java executable files were available for all to use? Once you've installed it, you need to add the directory /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_01/bin/ (or whatever version you have) to your PATH environment. You can do this by editing the file /etc/profile

Thanks for that tip however now I cant install Java as I used rpm -e jre and all the files got deleted but when I try to reinstall it, it says jre is allready installed.
Once I can sort this out then I can add it to the enviroment. Thanks |
I had to link the plugin to the mozilla/plugins directory it all works now I got my information from this site.
