Hi all,

I am a newbie to the linux world. To start learning linux I tried
loading it on my machine with the following config:
Asus mobo P5RD2-VM
Samsung SATA HDD 80 GB
rest the usual stuff viz. KB, Mouse, CD-ROM, DDR RAM

I first loaded win XP successfully. Then tried loading FC5. The
install didn't proceed since the display used to get garbled beyond
initial few screens.

Loaded FC5 in text mode successfully. But the GUI does not load
(startx)when I boot in FC5. I can work in text mode though. The
problem seems to be the on-board Integrated PCI Express Graphics
adapter viz. ATI Radeon Xpress 200. Downloaded a driver from ATI site
and executed the same. It did not install as perhaps it is not FC5
compatible.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

this may b surely the graphic adapter problem coz i'm also waiting for the reply to work with the gui mode in my new pc

You probably need the video driver for your ati card.
