I tried just burning a CD-ROM with the ISO on it, but apparently this is not the right way to do it.
But when I choose bootable CD to be made from Nero, it wants the location of the "image file" (*.IMA), of which there are none in the ISO. So what should I set as the image file? The whole ISO? The "diskboot.iso" file inside the big ISO? Should I also burn the data onto it? I'm lost...
This is for a clean install of Fedora Core 2 (dual-boot).
These are good but...They don't match up to my version of Nero...mine must be even newer or something cuz I can't find any of the stuff except for Data Mode
And another thing, the CDs I DID make...the ones that I just burned the ISO to. If I try to boot from them it will act like it's going to do something, but then it will just go to the bootloader...and I can't go into "linux" because my mandrake is gone (I erased it to install fedora). If I try linux it gets a few lines into it then gives some error.
Have a read of the user guide for Nero 6 on their site (you can view or download it), it has fairly detailed instructions for burning from an iso - you need Chapter 9.3
I'm not sure if i'm misreading something here. It sounds like you're trying to burn the Fedora ISOs to CD, right? If so, then you're not suppose to mess around with making boot CDs. In Nero you find the menu item called "Burn Image". Usuallyt it's under the "File" menu or "Tools".
It will ask for an ISO file then, and then you just burn. The CD will -then- be bootable and all ready to use. [assuming you're trying to burn Fedora ISOs].
In other words you don't make a 'data cd' and paste the ISO file in there, that's wrong and your cd will never work.
Further to make an ISO from a CD, you follow similar steps [either 'create image' or go into the "save track" menu].
Although i recommend you get something like Alcohol or CloneCD if you want to make and burn images. UltraISO is also a good tool to modify ISOs.
