Named service won't start

I have been trying to start named service but it return the rndc connection fail, connection refused. If i click on the named service in service, it will indicate service started succesfully msgbox but still show connection refused status. Have been configured named.conf, rndc.conf, rndc.key and What other file and folder do i need to have ? Pls advise. Thanks

restart named
and post last 10 lines of /var/log/messages

do /etc/init.d/named restart

or /etc/rc.d/named restart

they're both a symlink to each other so it won't matter which. this should do the trick
