minimum space required for Fedora Core 2 installation

Dear Sir/Madam:

I plan to install the basic Fedora Core 2 onto the 2GB flash hard drive. Anyone knows how much minimum space required for installing the basic Fedora Core 2? The Fedora Core 2 is the newer OS than RH Linux enterprise version 3, so it will support all the functionalities available in RHELv3. Just don't know how much more space required for the basic Linux installation for Fedora Core 2?

I have no Fedora Core 2 and the PC system I ordered is not available at the moment, so I cannot try anything.

It will be very appreciated if some can help with this. If it does need more space, then I will contact the PC system provider to update my order.

Thanks and regards!
D.S.

can basic Fedora Core 2 without graphic x window be installed on a 2GB flash disk?

dear sir/madam:

can the basic Fedora Core 2 without the graphic x window be installed on a 2GB flash hard disk?

there is some comments from the Fedora Core 2 documentation as follows:

1. The Fedora Core 2 i686 kernel uses the "4GB/4GB memory split," where both kernel and user space each have 4GB of virtual address space available. This allows the use of larger applications, and is especially useful for Java and databases. In addition, this feature provides increased kernel space, which can be used to take advantage of system configurations with large amounts of RAM.

what does this mean? does it mean that the minimum space for the installaiton hard disk is 4GB?

thanks and regards!
David

Prob'ly. You'll have to leave out a lot of stuff; games, development tools, and other non-essentials.

That's talking about RAM not hard-drive space. I have FC3T3 installed in about 3GB with quite a lot of extras.
