Red face Kernel Panic during boot from FC2 CD1 HELP!!!!!

I downloaded the Fedora Core 2 ISO's from red hat's website. I burned them using Nero 6 and tried to install on 4 different computers. I'm not trying to do dual boot or anything like that. I've burned the images several times and downloaded them several times thinking it could be a problem there but i still get the same error during the boot process before the install program even loads:

RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0
crc error
VFS: Cannot open root device "<NULL>" or unknown-block(72,3)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(72,3)

i tried typing:

linux mediacheck

but i still get the same problem. As i mentioned i've done this on several machines and gotten the same error. the machines are as follows

AMD Athlon 1300 (oc to 1590)(tried with and without oc) 1.5GB PC133, 20GB hard drive
AMD Athlon 650 (oc to 866) 256 PC2700 DDR, 20GB HD
IBM Intellistation P4 1.8GHz, 512 PC133, 18GB SCSI HD
Dell Latitude P2 400MHz laptop with 196MB SDRAM, 20GB HD

i've searched the net and can't seem to find anything about this particular error message.

I had the same error message, and it ended up being a problem with my memory. Try reseating your memory, and if that doesn't work, replace the memory.

You might also want to try the memtest86 from the initial menu

memory problem, do you mean its a hardware prob with the RAM?

OK, so taking out the RAM and putting it back in should do the trick i suppose.
