I am new to linux.I am trying to install fedora core 3 in pentium machine.My proble is when installing FC3 its not detected my hard disk.Type of my hard disk is SATA.But i successfully installed Fedora core 7 without any problem. when installing FC 3 its come to stage add device manually or add later.when i select add later option it goes a screen where 2 options displayed namely manually partition or Automaticaly partition . Both options reboot machine saying hard ware problem.Can any one help me?

First, I don't know why you would want FC3 instead of F7 (or F8 really soon), but thats your choice. As far as I know, FC3 support was discontinued a long time ago, which means no security updates, amongst other things. As to your problem, it seems quite obvious that you would get a hard ware error if you try to install a distro, without having any hard drives configured. Try to make the installer see your HD, and try again.I don't know how you would do this however, try to google it, or wait for someone with more knowledge on the subject than me.

If I am not misled FC3 doesn't have SATA support (like all Linux'es of that vintage). If it doesn't see any HDD, how should it be able to install to one?
