Installing dual boot on HP372 raid controller (ABIT-KX7333R)

OK just wondering if anyone can help me out with dual booting with this highpoint 372 chipset..

i have windows XP installed on 2 80gigs in a raid0 array (2 NTFS partitions), the bios boots from this. i have a 3rd 20gig that i wish to install fedora onto. I tried installing fedora core 2 and the installation went successfully. All hard drives were recognized. However...

When it came time to install GRUB, it did not detect that i had any other operating system installed on the machine.. at this point i became wary of having grub mess with the MBR (since it did not recognize XP), so i instead had GRUB installed to the /boot sector of the 20gig.

as i expected, the system booted into XP with no prompt. I then pointed the bios for the mobo and the bios for the HP372 chipset to boot from the 20gig.. upon doing so i recieved a "GRUB Hard Disk Error"

My question is how to set up fedora core 2 or 3 on my rig and have dual boot options. Any help is much appreciated.
