Installed Fedora 8 and system will not do the initial reboot, it hangs at the restart
[Fedora 8]I am not knowledgeable when it comes to fedora, i have successfully installed Fedora 6 and decided to install 8 from scratch. i have installed Fedora 8 on a dell OptiPlex 745 Intel Core2 duo 6300 @1.86GHZ w2GB RAM. Platform i686, Swap 2047, Kernel 2.6.23.1-42.fc8. I downloaded the Fedora 8 i386 DVD and used it to do the install. According to the Fedora docs:
The installation procedure is fairly simple, and consists of only a few steps:
1. Download files to make media or another bootable configuration.
2. Prepare system for installation.
3. Boot the computer and run the installation process.
4. Reboot and perform post-installation configuration.
I am having trouble at the beginning of step 4. The first thing i did was boot up with the DVD, then i selected the Create Custom Layout and created a Swap: 2047, then the /: mount with the Fill to maximum option and finally installed the Grub Boot loader and when it asked to end the installation I selected Reboot. I did notice that durning the shutdown there was a message that read Restorecond- Failed. The last thing it does is Unmounting pipe file systems: and then it gives a message "Please stand by while rebooting the system..." "Restarting system" This is where it hangs and never does the reboot. I have to power down the system to shutdown and when i do a cold boot i can continue witht the post installation configuration and complete it. While logged on i decide to do a restart and again it hangs at the same location. The only way to run Fedora 8 is to shut down. Can someone help me.
