I am installing the Fedora core for the first time. I have successfully booted from a CD rom. After making any type of selection I get a string of text which indicates all the components from my computer that the installer has recognized. When it gets to the "running /sbin loader" it stops and does not report any progress. It still reads from the cd rom, but this continues for more than two hours. Is this normal? If so, how long should I allow the system to continue. If not, what should I do? Thanks for any insight into this.
Well looks like we are having the EXACT same problem, keep an eye on the thread that I have created to see if the solution is posted there.....
Good luck
Paz
I checked out your thread. Yes, it does look like we are having the same problems. There also seems to be the commonality that I am installing on an AMD product, but mine is a 800 MHz AMD athlon. Does Fedora not support AMD products? Or is it the motherboard?
