Installation error (JMicron motherboard)
Hello, i tried installing fedora 6 and latest fedora test 3 few times and failed.
I'm using dd to copy diskboot.img on my USB stick, then i boot from USB.
when i do it with fedora 6, i am able to start the installation at least : i choose FTP (or HTTP) method from the same source i got diskboot (and i tried many different sources), and type in IP and such.
it starts downloading stage2 or minstage2 (i tried both - graphical mode and text mode)
and in graphical mode, after it downloads stage2, it says:
found ATI unrecognized card (or someting similar), then i get artifacts, then X starts normally and i can click 'next' and then after few seconds it stalls and stops responding - i can't then move my mouse or anything and it's over
with text version (still fedora 6) , after it loads minstage2 i get LOTS of garbage on the screen in the text mode. background is blue, and it also says installation exited abnormally. i don't have anything intresting in logs in alt+f3 or f4. no errors or anything. just saying installation stopped abnormally.
ok now with Fedora Test 3 it's much shorter, because as soon as i select text mode installation or graphical mode (doesnt matter), it starts loading linux, and after 3-4 screens of normal information i get this and computer stalls or reboots:
[normal linux stuff]
Decided to use linux-sysfs
loader received SIGSEGV: Backtrace:

install exited abnormally [1/1]
and then i get unomounting filesystems, rebooting and such messages
I have intel core duo and motherboard gigabyte 965-S3 with ICH8 and JMicron chipsets. i'm trying to install it on IDE controller (JMicron)
graphic card is ATI 1950 pro
please help. i have no problems installing Debian by the way.
