Question I can't install apt RPM no application associated

There is no action associated with "apt-0.5.15cnc6-0.fdr.11.2.i386.rpm"

Is the error message i get.
I want to install apt so that i can install synaptic so that i can install applications that stream video etc.

I was able to install an opera rpm previously so i don't know why.

I tried using

yum install apt-get as root but it couldn't find apt-get.

Anyway, aren't yum and apt-get fufilling the same task anyway, like having opera and mozilla on the same system?

Try:

rpm -ivh apt-0.5.15cnc6-0.fdr.11.2.i386.rpm

as root when you are in the sasme folder as the apt...rpm file.
