For interacting with MS-Windows SMB and NMB protocols, look at the Samba package. You can use this to share things on a Windows network.
You can also mount Windows network shares as type smbfs, and use shared printers through the CUPS configuration.
I believe there's even some software somewhere that lets you browse the LAN like Windows Explorer but I don't know what it is off-hand. No doubt someone else will…
