Help installing FC6 on an external HD E:, don't wanna overwrite XP on C:
I'm trying to install FC6 on an external HD, but during the installation process I didn't notice any prompts asking me where to install it. I was afraid it'd just install it on the C: drive, and that would overwrite Windows XP on my system. I chickened out and left the installation process. I'm wondering, will the installation process prompt me to choose where I want to install it? Or will I need to tell it somehow on my own?
EDIT:
I've been reading around, and I'm not sure whether it's even possible to boot from my external HD. I wonder if my BIOS supports it. If it doesn't, how can I get this to work?

If your BIOS won't let you boot from your external HD, then you can't install FC6 on it, and even if you could it wouldn't boot so there wouldn't be much point, would there?

Not sure about the External HD, but you could repartition your existing drive, and install a dual boot with FC that way. Or just throw another small HD in the system. I've got mine setup with a 100 MB boot Partition, 60 GB for Win XP and 20 GB for FC6. Working like a charm from FC 4 through 6.
Since I posted that I've done a lot of reading and messing around. For one I discovered my system BIOS does support booting from a external USB device, of that I'm sure. I also got FC6 installed on the external HD.
The problem I'm having now is different. I try to boot checking the external HD first, and the system makes an attempt to boot, but fails. I think it can't find the boot files.
No one else seems to know, so I wouldn't reckon that anyone here knows why that is?
