Fedora Install Freezes

I have downloaded iso's of i386 Fedora 5. I boot the first cd and start the install..after it ask if i want to skip or check the integrity of the media it freezes. Unless i tell it to check...then it freezes at 8%. 1 boot out of 10 it got all the way to it saying"starting anaconda" but it froze there. Whats going on guys/girls

My PC is a 500MHz 128MB Ram 250GB and 17GB Harddrives.

Maybe try to install in text mode, 128MB may be (and probably is) too little to support a graphical install. I haven't used the text installer yet (not for Fedora at least) so I can't tell you how to start it. My guess is by entering something like "linux text" at the boot line but I'm not sure.

Yea i tried that and same thing...it always starts in text mode then if you hit enter it goes to graphical after it gets at least to anaconda (this is a theory because i had the same screen both ways [text/graphicala] I use to use graphical for all other version of linux some time ago. Wow 128 is not what it use to be.

Maybe the integrity check is like a woman and is not being vocal but using head games to tell you something about the integrity of the disc?

Minimum required for FC5: 256MB
Recommended: 384MB

Btw, you're sure you are performing a text install?
