Fedora core 4 will not load anything from DVD

I did the sha1sum on the DVD iso file before burning it on the DVD. After burning the DVD iso to the DVD the sha1sum checked out fine. I burned it with Roxio on Windows xp. I already have Mandrake Linux 10.1(Mandriva). When I try to boot the DVD nothing comes up at all even after changing the bios. The Mandrake menu is the only thing that comes up giving me a choice of Windows or Mandrake Linux everytime I try to boot the DVD and does not offer the opportunity to type the command
linux text.
I am still fairly new but I have typed media check in terminal mode but nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated I need to get Oracle up and running on Fedora Core 4

Thank you

Ken

This may seem like a silly question, but are you sure your BIOS supports booting from DVD?

I honestly do not know if it does. However when I tried to boot from a regular Cd that I had burned There was still no response.

Depending on the age of the machine you ared using, and the specifics of the BIOS from your vendor, the PC may not support booting a CD or DVD, or it may require a BIOS reconfiguration, or perhaps you may need to hold down a key while the system powers up.

The best place to find the answers to whether you can boot the media is to check with the documentation that came with your machine, or the vendors web site.

You can also try checking for a BIOS update for the system. Again, this would be available from your vendors web site.
