I'm again seeking for your precious help again...Well I've downloaded the new Fedora Core and installed it quite easily...The installation went by smoothly.
Well my problem now is that almost all drivers was correctly installed except for my sound card (Realtek AC'97 Audio). During the installation process, FC4 detected it and assigned it as intel... with module sn... Well now my question is:
1. Can we change the drivers for a particular device in FC4 as I've searched well how to do this but in vain. And if the answer is yes, would you please explain to me step by step please (I'm quite newbie)
2. Does anyone know where I can get the linux drivers for my sound card which is Realtek AC'97 Audio?
Hi,
I have had issues with my Intel mobo's sound card detection while installing both red hat 9 and fedora 1:
However I found the appropriate drivers and the relevant instructions for installing at Intel's web site:
I think its intel.org or something like that (try google).
hey, i am very new to Linux and have installed FC4 and also experimented with Suse 9.3
I appear to be having issues similar to the fellow above. I installed FC4 on a toshiba laptop, fc4 autodetected my card as a realtek ac'97 (which is correct). However i am not getting any sound. when i install Suse, i have the same problem initally; however, suse gives you a simple option to tweak the soundcard driver by supplying a few varients, two alternate configs for buggy hardward. After about 5 minutes in suse i can get my sound working perfect bu inputting different card values (2 or 7 usually work). However, i cannot figure out how to do anything like this in FC4.
I'm having same problem with my toshiba laptop with realtek sound card. No sound at all but card being detected with fedora core 4. If outputs needed, just let me know.
Any help would be appreciated.
It seems there is some problem with the sound detection on Fecora Core 4.
I also have a Toshiba laptop, and when I reboot the machine sometimes the sound card is detected, sometimes not. No info goes to the logs. I guess the only way to traces the problem is to debug the kernel, somwthing I can't do :-(
