Fedora blocked out ubuntu.
First of all I am a linux newbie, so please suggest me solutions with command if possible.
I have partitioned my hardisk. I had set winxp in hda1, FC4 in hda7 and Ubuntu in hda9.
During installtion FC4 did not recognise my ubuntu partition so i added it manually when asked during installation.
Now FC4 has its grub installed, it is allowing me login in windows damn, but does not allow me to login Ubuntu 5.04 hoary.
FC4 /boot/grub/conf. is as follows
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You do not have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /, eg.
# root (hd0,6)
# kernel /boot/vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/hda7
# initrd /boot/initrd-version.img
title Fedora Core (2.6.11-1.1369_FC4)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet
title Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.10-5-386
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.10-5-386 root=/dev/hda9 ro
Although boot process starts into ubuntu it halts after one or two seconds with the error message
Reqest_module: runway loop modprobe bin fmt - 0000
Please can anyone suggest me what has to be done to solve this.
Can you post the contents of /boot/grub/menu.lst (or whatever the grub configuration file is) from /dev/hda9?
