Ok Folks I got one for ya,

I'm trying to install F7 on an Acer Aspire 1500 (x86_64). Net-install works fine until I get to the point where I enter the path to the FTP server.

I enter: ftp.xxxxxxx.xxx as the server name (X's cuz it doesn't matter which server, I've tried about 10 different ones) and then the path on the server to the os folder

(i.e. /pub/linux/fedora/releases/7/Fedora/os/ ) and after a couple of seconds I get the message that it couldn't connect to ftp://ftp.xxxxxxx.xxx//pub/linux/.....

So I leave the leading "/" off for the path,... but it makes no difference




If anyone has experienced the same problem and found a way to get around it (btw, I also tried starting the the path string with ../ , doesn't work either) I'd be happy to hear from you

This happens due to a bug in the installer 'anaconda', it appends a '/' after the IP address so that the source address for the FTP, is not correct. This has been fixed in Fedora rawhide. It does not come up in an NFS install or HTTP install.
