Fedora 5, Graphical mode fails during install and more
I am trying to install Fedora 5 x64, but when the graphical mode tries to come on during installation, it fails. It probes for my graphics card (which it finds) but then it tries to start Xserver and fails several times then defaults to the text mode. Any idea what would cause this? My system is as follows:
Motherboard: MSI K9N Neo-F NForce 550 AM2
Video Card: Diamond Radeon x550 PCIE256
Also, after I install Fedora and bootup, I can get runlevel 3. When I type "startx" I get:
---------------
(WW) RADEON: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:6:0:1) found
(EE) No devices detected
Fatal server error:
no screens found
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining
----------
I tried running "X -configure" and using the conf file it makes (xorg.conf.new), but no luck. In fact, it starts saying that it can't detect my mouse when I try to use that conf file using "X -config /root/xorg.conf.new"
Any idea on what is wrong?
