Fedora 2 Install hangs

I have a PII 450 SP on a MP motherboard. the iso-kernel loads up and begins to load anaconda 10. sometimes it hangs right after "running /sbin/loader" and sometimes it hangs in the next part where it starts probing devices and such. I have tried every variation of options to try to remedy this. Any ideas?

Worst of all, I got it loaded on a even CRUDDIER machine at work. I had previously installed SUSE 9.1 personal on the PII 450 machine, just can't seem to get Fedora 2 going

What does MP mean ?

SP = Single Processor, MP = Mutli Processor

I was mentioning it simply in case someone was aware of issues concerning running SP on a MP motherboard
