Fedora 11 x86-64 install hangs during updating repos

Trying to install fedora 11 on a machine that can handle ubuntu just fine. The installer hangs for over 20 minutes so far when trying to update repos. I tried deselecting a repos but I then get a message stating that I cannot then continue with the install unless I select one. Is there a way to install without updating the repos? Not being able to install from the DVD only is asinine.

Hi.

You can install just from the DVD. Only pick the local media when it asks about repos, unless you've only got the hundred-odd MB netinstall image.

Anyway, are you behind a web proxy, or do you have a weird network configuration?

Got it sorted but it took 5 attempts and then I could just click through one time. Dealing with adding the DVD as a yum source and these awful fonts. Appreciate the help.
