Got It!
W00t!! i got it to work. i'm using FC5 right now.
ok so what i had to do was install GRUB using the Rescue CD. i read the GRUB manual and natively installed GRUB. i actually had no luck the 1st time i did that. i got a error 17 one time and a error 27 a cpl times. so what i did was erase the partitions using the rescue CD like so:
fdisk/dev/hdb
d
1
d
2
w
thats what i typed when prompted. where would i look to get a copy of my command prompt?
after deleting the partitions i reinstalled FC5 with a /home partition and set GRUB to install in /boot. then i went back into the rescue CD and natively installed GRUB again. this time i accidentally installed it on my windows hdd. wasnt a big deal so i installed it on my FC5 hdd also. then rebooted. once i rebooted, GRUB took me directly to FC5!! i was excited and worried at the same time. i wasnt sure if i had written over Windows or not. so i rebooted again pressin F8 hoping to go into Safe Mode for Windows and the GRUB OS Select screen showed up allowing me to boot Windows. <insert relief here> turns out that all i have to do is press any key to go to the OS Select screen.
well, anyway, here i am on FC5. getting used to things. i like it so far.
